Our Patreon Has Relaunched — Lunar Acolytes Are Here
Dan KellyShare
Hello fellow adventurers,
The Lion’s Tower Patreon has officially relaunched — and we’re starting as we mean to go on: with dark elves, samurai armour, and just enough sinister elegance to make your average paladin start nervously checking the exits.
Our first new release is now live:
The Lunar Acolytes
4 Dark Elf Samurai Miniatures for War Commander
The Lunar Acolytes are the first wave of miniatures for War Commander, our developing fantasy skirmish wargame created by myself and game designer Max Witt.

This release includes four dark elf samurai miniatures, designed with a sinister, elegant fantasy aesthetic and sculpted with the usual Lion’s Tower focus on strong silhouettes, painter-friendly detail, and clean 3D printing.

They are ideal for:
-
Fantasy skirmish games
-
RPG encounters
-
Dark elf warbands
-
Samurai-inspired villains
-
Display painting projects
-
Anyone who thinks “murderous moonlit elf cult” is a perfectly reasonable hobby direction. And frankly, who among us has not had that phase?
What This Patreon Is Becoming
This relaunch is not just about monthly STL files.
The new Lion’s Tower Patreon is being built as an evolving home for fantasy STL miniatures, tabletop game development, and growing game worlds.
The core idea is simple:
Design the game. Print the army. Grow the world.
Each month, we plan to release new miniatures connected to our two main game systems:
War Commander
A fantasy skirmish wargame focused on commanders, warbands, units, factions, and community-driven development.
Crystal Collapse
Our anime and JRPG-inspired tactical tabletop game, focused on premium hero miniatures, bold characters, and dramatic tabletop battles.
The rules for both systems will remain free and public, so anyone can follow along, play, test, and get involved.
Patreon supporters get the miniatures, development updates, community votes, previews, and access to the growing archive depending on their tier.
Our Monthly Release Structure
We are keeping this realistic and sustainable.
Rather than promising an avalanche of miniatures every month and then vanishing under a pile of goblin admin, we are aiming for a clear monthly rhythm:
Week 1
War Commander release
Usually a unit set, warband expansion, or group of related miniatures.
Week 2
Devlog and community voting
Help shape the future of War Commander, including units, factions, scenarios, and development direction.
Week 3
Crystal Collapse hero release
A single high-quality character miniature for our JRPG-inspired tactical game, with a profile card to use them in your Crystal Collapse games.
Week 4
Sneak peeks, work-in-progress previews, lore, and future planning
This gives us two proper miniature releases each month, while still keeping the Patreon active throughout the month with development content, previews, and community involvement.
The Vault
One of the key parts of the new Patreon is the Vault.
The Vault is our growing archive of past Patreon releases, bonus content, and supporter milestone unlocks.
As the Patreon grows, we’ll unlock additional miniatures and content based on supporter milestones. These will become part of the permanent Vault, making the Patreon more valuable over time.
New releases will not go into the Vault immediately. They will move into the Vault after a delay, usually around 2–3 months.
That means current supporters get the newest releases first, while Vault members build access to an expanding back catalogue over time.
In other words:
More supporters → more unlocks → bigger Vault → better value for everyone.
A dangerously sensible system. We’ll try not to let it go to our heads.
