Big News from The Lion’s Tower – Patreon, Tribes, Skool and Gumroad Updates
Dan KellyShare
Hello fellow adventurers!
I’ve got a few important updates to share with you all about what’s happening here at The Lion’s Tower — from Patreon changes, to MyMiniFactory Tribes, to my new Skool community and ZBrush sculpting course. There’s a lot going on, so let’s dive in!
Patreon Updates – Supporting Independent Art
First off, a huge thank you to everyone who supports me through Patreon. As many of you know, I run The Lion’s Tower as a one-man independent business while also being a husband and dad. Between sculpting minis, running the store, packing resin orders, creating video content, and developing our JRPG-inspired tabletop skirmish game Crystal Collapse, sometimes the workload can be overwhelming.
Because of this, I can’t always guarantee a brand new miniature release every single month. But here’s my promise: you will always get value. Whether it’s exclusive STL miniatures, behind-the-scenes previews, tutorials, livestreams, or Crystal Collapse updates, I’ll make sure your support feels worthwhile.
Your membership really does make a difference. For as little as £6.50-£8 a month (about the cost of a posh coffee and cake — but far more rewarding!), you’re helping me keep creating, supporting my family, and pushing forward with exciting projects.
Tribes on Hold
After a lot of thought, I’ve decided to suspend releases on MyMiniFactory Tribes for now. Juggling Patreon and Tribes separately just isn’t sustainable at the current workload. Once things stabilise, I’d love to bring Tribes back, but until then, Patreon will remain the main place to support me and access my work.
Join the New Skool Community
For those of you looking for more than just miniatures — I’ve launched a brand-new FREE Skool community. This is the place to be if you want to advance your skills in sculpting, 3D printing, painting, or even launch your own miniatures business.
Here’s what you’ll find inside:
- 🎨 Tips and guidance from my 35 years of hobby experience
- 🤝 Support and insights from other hobbyists and professionals
- 🏆 Regular challenges to push your skills further
- 📸 A place to share your work, get feedback, and stay motivated
Whether you’re just starting out or looking to level up your sculpting and painting game, the Skool community is designed to help you on your journey.
ZBrush Sculpting Course on Gumroad
Big news for sculptors: my first ZBrush tuition course is now live on Gumroad! It’s designed to help both beginners and experienced users improve their workflow and create miniatures ready for 3D printing.
👉 Right now, the course is half price until the final content is added (expected in early November).
Alongside the course, I’ll also be adding more content for sculptors to both Gumroad and Patreon — including base meshes, IMM brushes, OBJ files, and more. If you’re serious about digital sculpting, this will be a growing resource you won’t want to miss.
Why This All Matters
At the heart of all of this is one simple truth: I’m an independent artist trying to make a living doing what I love — sculpting, painting, and bringing new worlds to life through miniatures and games. Every bit of support — whether through Patreon, Gumroad, Skool and your purchases through my store — helps me keep going, keep creating, and keep sharing my passion with this amazing community.
Thank you for being part of the journey. Whether you’re here for minis, sculpting tips, or just to cheer from the sidelines, I couldn’t do this without you.
